Catching up…

Dear readers,

We realize it has been awhile since we updated your favorite blog. Forgive us the absence, and let us update you on the recent happenings at Eckardt.

  • Recruiting: As you all know, there has been a decline in the number of people entering the construction industry. We have seen that decline firsthand and have been on the forefront of industry efforts to combat it and recruit people back into the trade. Our recruiting manager, Ashton Watt, recently organized a field trip for Gainesville High School construction students to visit our Lanier Technical College job site. We have focused on engaging young people in the trades far earlier than before, and are leading efforts to restart construction and shop programs in high schools across Georgia. Thanks to our partners at NewSouth for hosting the students!
  • Project Performance: Our project teams have had a banner year- wrapping up several high profile projects across the region. Whether you are sitting in traffic on the Grady Curve or on 75 north in the Cumberland area, you can enjoy looking at fantastic Eckardt projects (Marcus Trauma Center and Synovus Bank building). We have several other exciting projects ongoing through 2018, including the Lanier Technical College in Gainesville, phase III of the Terry College of Business in Athens, and other projects at Georgia Tech, Emory, and more!
  • Awards: We were honored to be presented with a subcontractor award by Turner Construction for our performance at Northeast Georgia Hospital Braselton. Thank to Turner for recognizing our project team in this way- we look forward to many more great projects together!
